I began making playful oil sketches over Instax prints in 2019 but they quickly became a series ‘Hidden Lane Colours’ now runs to over 80 images. The shots I work over are mostly by my young son who takes lots of bad (and some amazing) snaps. I decided to recycle those he discards. Sometimes other photographers donate their ‘failed’ instant shots to me. When working over photographs I’ve not taken myself I never use the underlying composition but make an abstract image.

Sometimes I paint on other objects too.
