I often draw and make notes in sketchbooks. I have stacks of them. Some of the sketches turn into paintings or are reworked to become ‘finished’ drawings.

Occasionally I paint onto objects. I enjoy the idea that ‘readymades’ bear marks of a previous life on their surface and may have unknown stories hidden within. It’s the closest I get to using narrative in my work.
